The following costs apply to people who are not eligible for full or part government funding under the Apprenticeship programme. Please check with us as depending on your circumstances, we may be able to access up to 100% funding for you. 

 

Child Care Cost Structure

Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce - with VTS Assessor

Service Provision

Duration of the course – approximately 17 months

Initial ‘Sign Up’ visit of up to 1½ hours duration to explain course content and portfolio building

Registration with City and Guilds

3 written progress reviews detailing progress made and stating clear objectives and actions needed (if any) to ensure timely achievement

Internal verification by qualified, competent VTS staff

Certification by City and Guilds

Traditional Paper-based Portfolio Route

We will provide face-to-face tutorials, e-mail and telephone support, and a maximum of 12 visits over the 17 month period of learning (approximately 6 week intervals) with each visit lasting a maximum of one-and-a-half hours in length.

Assessment will take place through observationsin the workplace, and additional assessment will be through portfolio building of assignments, case studies and work based activities.

The full cost of the course is £1095, which can be paid by standing order at £64.50 per month for 17 months, or in full within 30 days of invoice. By paying in full you will receive a £70.00 discount off the full cost of the course.

E-Learning Route 

Our flexible e-learning service will include the use of our Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and regular tutorial support via e-mail and telephone. A maximum of four face-to-face visits over the 17 month period of learning will be provided, with each visit lasting a maximum of one-and-a-half hours in length.

Assessment will take place through observations in the workplace, and additional assessment will be through portfolio building of assignments, case studies and work based activities.

The full cost of the course is £695.00, which can be paid by standing order at £45.00 per month for 17 months, or in full within 30 days of invoice.

Conditions  

  • No refund for early leavers
  • No extension to period of learning, providing VTS has provided adequate service in accordance with the agreement
  • No extra visits
  • At least 48 hrs notice must be given either way for cancellation of a scheduled visit. In the event of sickness, either party must notify the other by 08.30 am on the day of the visit
  • Course visits will not commence until the initial invoice has been paid
  • In the event of the initial invoice remaining unpaid after 30 days, VTS reserves the right to withdraw the offer of training
  • In the event of the standing order payment not being received, VTS will immediately withdraw the service.


Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People's Workforce - with in-house Assessor

The in-house assessor can determine the start and end dates, but VTS recommends 17 months.

Service Provision

3 one hour progress meetings with the in-house assessor over the period of the qualification 

Registration with City and Guilds

Internal verification by qualified, competent VTS staff

Certification with City and Guilds

The full cost of the course is £500.00, payable by invoice and in advance.

  • No extra visits
  • Work to be collected and scheduled visits only, or delivered to VTS
  • At least 48 hrs notice must be given either way for cancellation of a scheduled visit. In the event of sickness, either party must notify the other by 08.30 am on the day of the visit

  • In the event of the initial invoice remaining unpaid after 30 days, VTS reserves the right to withdraw the offer of training


Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce - with VTS Assessor
