The Manager / Employer's role in the Apprenticeship / NVQ programme is key to the learner's success.
Providing the learner with a diverse range of roles and responsibilities within the workplace will greatly increase their knowledge and experience. This in-turn will improve progress towards their award.
VTS is commited to the safety and wellbeing of it's learners and the clients in their care.
This is a three way agreement between the Learner, Employer and VTS stating the responsibilities of each party.
This document is signed by the employer as a declaration that the workplace complies with all relevant legislation.
In addition, The VTS Health and Safety Officer carries out regular Health and Safety checks on all workplaces used by VTS Apprentices
Because of the spontaneous nature of the health care sector, there may be occasions when the learner can be observed carrying out certain duties, and / or responding to a particular set of circumstances that occur in their assessor's absence.
In such cases it can be greatly beneficial to the learner's progress if their actions are witnessed and documented by a senior member of staff.
Such a statement can be written retrospectively and will need to be on workplace headed paper.
