Successful Bid Brings Extra Funding to the Care Sector

Following VTS’s successful European Social Fund (ESF) bid, additional funding will shortly be available for the Care sector, in particular for those who have already achieved their level 2 NVQ and wish to progress to a level 3 award.

VTS was the only training provider of its kind to successfully bid for this particular funding, and as a result received an additional allocation on top of what was originally bid.

It is hoped that these funds will help to deliver essential level 3 training to care workers over the age of 24, who are unable to access work based learning apprenticeship funding.

Nick Morgan, Business Development Manager said, ‘We are always trying to find new sources of funding to help employers with the cost of up-skilling their workforce. I’m sure that this latest allocation from the ESF will be very well received and go some way to filling the large funding and subsequent skills gap that has emerged in recent years.’

Workplaces will be invited to nominate staff members during March and April 2006.
