VTS Vocational Training Services is a leader in the provision of apprenticeship and private training programmes in and around Essex.
Whether you need nationally recognised qualifications in Child Care, Health and Social Care, Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, Team Leading, Management, Customer Service, or Business Administration, over 21 years we have built up a delivery team that we believe is the best you will find.
Our programmes can be full or part government funded, privately funded or learners can apply for a 19+ Learning Loan for certain level 3 or 4 courses. We were established in May 1994 and have training centres in Westcliff-on-Sea and Colchester. From these bases we deliver training throughout Essex and the Eastern Region. We also deliver private training and short courses.
Reasons to train with VTS
VTS genuinely cares about our learners and have built up a delivery team that we genuinely believe is the best you will find. Recently, our Operations Manager, Elizabeth Buxton, was awarded the City and Guilds Medal for Excellence, and was also named Innovator of the Year for her work in Child Care. She then went on to receive the Royal seal of approval as she received the City and Guilds Presidents Award from The Princess Royal at Buckingham Palace (picture opposite). Although it was Elizabeth who received the award, it could have been any one of our tutors as they all share the same values and philosophy. Our assessor/tutor Kim Allen has also won the Medal for Excellence and two other staff assessors were selected from thousands to be invited to the IFL in Nottingham to receive their Qualified Teacher Status certificates. Proof that if you train with VTS you are in very safe hands.
“I liked how VTS treats everybody as an individual, helps them in their choices and encourages them to succeed”
Over the years, VTS has trained care, child care and teaching support staff from hundreds of employers across Essex and the Eastern Region. Our clients include hospitals, schools, special schools, community groups, charities, private residential and nursing care homes, community care services, nurseries, playgroups and after school groups.
VTS trainers/Assessors are always occupationally qualified professionals such as nurses, nursery nurses and qualified teacher/tutors. This ensures that all training and assessment is delivered to the highest standards and that all our learners get the most from their training.
“Before I started with VTS I had a really negative view on learning. But when your tutor started teaching, my views changed—she makes me want to achieve and do well!”
We have a direct Skills Funding Agency contract and have forged partnerships with organisations including South Essex college, Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, numerous employers throughout the Eastern Region and are working closely with Sector Skills Councils including Skills for Care in marketing and providing innovative training solutions, including introducing the QCF level 4 Diploma in Adult Social Care and level 5 Higher Apprenticeships.
However successful we become, we’ll never forget why we’re here—to supply training with care and integrity to people who need to be competent in their work and able to prove it.
In our opinion this is simply more important than anything else.
